Continente 2010

Latin America - Mar. 28 - Apr. 4, 2010

One hundred million people: that’s the goal for Continente 2010, a saturation evangelism strategy to reach the Spanish-speaking world with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

For the Luis Palau Association, Continente 2010 builds on a solid foundation of innovative evangelism in Latin America. Nearly 35 years ago, during a three-week campaign in Managua, Nicaragua, the team launched Continente ’75, a media blitz aimed at blanketing all of Latin America with the truth of Christ.

Easter week, March 28-April 4, 2010, will again be the occasion for saturation evangelism. Working with Enlace, TBN’s Hispanic network, and LPA’s Hispanic broadcasting friends, the Palau Association will produce seven nights of continent-wide one-hour long interactive TV broadcasts. The programs will also go out on radio and via the Internet.

Other Continente 2010 highlights include:

  • An anticipated 1,000 local evangelistic church events Easter Sunday afternoon.
  • 7,000 Latin American churches partnering with LPA in the outreach effort.
  • A live, continent-wide evangelistic TV telecast from Lakewood Church in Houston with Grammy Award-winning singer Marcos Witt on Easter Sunday.
  • An online church evangelism kit, which will include training tools, curriculum, and LPA’s “Bible Institute” videos.
  • A Luis Palau training blog to inspire and communicate with emerging leaders who in turn can encourage and network with one another continent-wide.
