The week of August 26-31, thousands of people attended Manado CityFest, a multifaceted evangelistic campaign in the heart of Manado, Indonesia. The festival was designed to reach Manado's 'lost generation,' described as younger people who have grown up in the church but walked away from their faith due to the influence of culture or other religions. A majority of Indonesians ages 15-50 have no connection or interest in the Gospel.
The week included multiple events across the city, including outreaches at a local university, mall and a small scale festival at a local prison. On August 30 and 31, the Palau team collaborated with local churches for a free festival at MegaMas arena featuring Planetshakers, Salem Baptist Choir from Chicago, and a powerful Gospel message from Andrew Palau.
