Dallas, Texas (April 6, 2010) – International evangelist Luis Palau, in partnership with Spanish television network Enlace, concluded on Easter Sunday a massive media outreach that reached millions of people throughout Latin America with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
The event, called Continente 2010, aired live television and radio broadcasts each weekday evening throughout Easter Holy Week, March 29-April 4, 2010. The live call-in format for “Night Talk” (“Luis Palau Responde,” in Spanish) employed call screeners in 26 countries. Callers were connected with Palau in the Enlace studio in Dallas, Texas, or with another Christian counselor. At any given time 700 telephone lines throughout the Latin world could be active. And with more than 5,350 television and radio partners re-broadcasting the Enlace program, event organizers estimate a reach to tens of millions of people every evening.
“I spoke with callers from Argentina, Guatemala, California, Honduras, and El Salvador,” said Palau, naming just a few. “Each told me about deep-seated, difficult issues they were facing – from divorce and sexual addiction or assault to depression, suicide, and even murder. I shared the truth of the love and forgiveness found in Jesus Christ that is available to everyone. Many made first-time commitments to Jesus Christ right there with me on the phone. Only God knows how many more who were watching or listening also gave their lives to Christ!”
Callers making a faith decision could receive a free copy of the New Testament and follow-up material through the local United Bible Societies. They were also connected to a local church in their area for further follow-up. More than 685 churches registered as partners with Continente 2010, many offering live or delayed broadcasts of the show. All were committed to following up with the new believers referred to them.
The media blitz culminated with a special Easter Sunday afternoon service at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. The two-hour service featured Palau, worship leader Marcos Witt, and a number of guest artists. It was aired by Enlace throughout Latin America.
Palau first started counseling people on live television 45 years ago when in 1965 he was invited by HCJB-TV in Quito, Ecuador to take calls from spiritual seekers and questioning skeptics.

Continente 2010 culminated with a special Easter Sunday afternoon service at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. The two-hour service featured Luis Palau, worship leader Marcos Witt, and a number of guest artists including Salvador and Jaci Velasquez.
It was aired by Enlace throughout Latin America, and numerous churches came together to watch the service broadcast. Luis greeted those gathered in a stadium in La Plata, Argentina, and churches in Cardales, Buenos Aires also rented a stadium.

Continente 2010 continues to reach throughout the Spanish-speaking world.
Luis is answering questions from callers in the United States, Guatemala, Argentina, Honduras, El Salvador, and more. He is also answering questions posted on Facebook, addressing topics including depression, suicide, rape, guilt, and shame.
More than 950 phone lines in 23 nations continue to take calls into the evenings, with several connecting directly with Luis even an hour after the conclusion of the live program.
Continue to pray for the program as it runs through Sunday. Pray that the Lord uses it to reach tens of millions of individuals with the Good News of Jesus Christ this Easter Holy Week.

Luis Palau’s continent-wide outreach effort continued Tuesday, March 30, reaching millions more individuals with the Good News of Jesus Christ across the Spanish-speaking world. More than 5,350 television and radio partners re-broadcast the Enlace Television program, further expanding our reach and saturating the entire region with the Gospel. Calls were taken from Guatemala, California, and New York, among others. Several of the callers opened their hearts to the Lord right on the spot.

Luis Palau’s continent-wide Easter Holy Week outreach effort
kicked off Monday, March 29 with a live, one-hour call-in television special from Dallas, Texas. In partnership with Spanish television network Enlace, this historic initiative was broadcast throughout the Spanish-speaking world, reaching millions of individuals in more than 23 nations.

Portland, Oregon (March 1, 2010) – International evangelist Luis Palau, in partnership with Spanish television network Enlace, will launch an Easter Holy Week mission aimed to reach millions of Spanish-speaking people with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Organizers of the media event, called Continente 2010, hope it will achieve the same if not greater success as similar media blitzes launched by Palau in 1975 and 1985. Continente 2010 will include seven nights of telecasts originating from the Enlace studio in Dallas, Texas, March 28 - April 3.
The Monday through Friday telecasts are set for 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. Central time in a live call-in format. Call screeners in 23 countries will connect callers with Palau or another counselor. They will discuss the relevancy of Jesus Christ in response to people’s deep-seated problems. The program will be simulcast over a network of partner radio stations and the Internet.

One unique element of the telecasts will be a post-show webcast discussion in which Palau and others discuss caller questions. The post-show, available on Internet, will emphasize important principles that can help viewers better understand how to experience greater joy and satisfaction in life.
“This should be one of the widest-reaching campaigns in our team’s history,” said Kevin Palau, president of the Luis Palau Association. “We are grateful for the partnership with Enlace and hundreds of churches who share the vision to help millions of people discover the true meaning of Easter.”
Continente 2010 will culminate with a special Easter Sunday afternoon service at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. The three-hour service will feature Palau, worship leader Marcos Witt, and a number of guest artists and Latin leaders. The service will be aired live by Enlace.

One hundred million people: that’s the goal for Continente 2010, a saturation evangelism strategy to reach the Spanish-speaking world with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Working with Enlace, TBN’s Hispanic network, and the Luis Palau Association’s Hispanic broadcasting friends, LPA will produce six nights of continent-wide, one-hour long interactive TV broadcasts during Easter week (March 28-April 2, 2010). The Q-and-A program will take calls from more than 23 nations, allowing individuals to connect with Luis or another live counselor. The programs will also go out on radio and via the Internet.

Nearly 35 years ago, during a three-week campaign in Managua, Nicaragua, the Palau team launched Continente ’75, a media blitz aimed at blanketing all of Latin America with the claims of Christ.
The Good News was proclaimed on 56 radio stations and more than 100 television stations. Two million pieces of literature were distributed. All told, 80 million people in 23 countries were given an opportunity to hear the Gospel clearly proclaimed.
Ten years later during Easter week, a similar media strategy saturated the Spanish-speaking world with the Gospel message. Special couriers hand-carried the taped Continente ’85 radio and television programs into more than 22 countries for broadcast. Millions of people in Latin America, the United States, and Spain heard Luis Palau’s messages on more than 330 radio stations and 480 television stations.
