Extend the Impact Conference 2008
Innovative Evangelism Conference 2009
Innovative Evangelism Conference 2006
August 20-23, 2008: Portland CityFest with Luis Palau

"Each year NGA hosts at least one Extend the Impact Conference in conjunction with a Luis Palau festival. This year’s conference offers an unparalleled opportunity to look toward the future of festival evangelism as we observe a new festival model. Festival 2.0 will combine working with, through, and for the local church in creative ways. An entire Season of Service will precede the festival, as a practical way for the local church to tangibly serve their city. It will culminate at Portland City Fest, a celebratory festival in Portland, Oregon, where the Gospel is proclaimed. I encourage you to come to this year’s conference, and to bring the city leaders you plan to partner with so they can also experience this new model. It’s an incredible opportunity I don’t want you to miss."

Our postmodern culture continues to morph into a multi-dimensional experience. The increasing pressures in our market-driven economy guarantee that no generation will be the same as the one preceding it. Today, in order to impact the unreached, evangelists must embrace new methods and engage in new networks of support and collaboration. The 2009 Innovative Evangelism Conference affords you the opportunity to explore the latest ideas in evangelism alongside a great group of people who are passionate about the Good News of Jesus Christ. It is packed with opportunities for fellowship, training, renewal and inspiration.
Innovative Evangelism Conference 2009
November 17-20, 2009
Portland, Oregon
Nearly 300 men and women from around the world came to Portland, Oregon, for Luis Palau’s Next Generation Alliance first-time Innovative Evangelism Conference October 24-27, 2006.“It’s truly amazing to watch the networking that’s happening—new friendships being established and plans being made for future evangelistic events,” said conference coordinator Carey Dow. “From Australia, France, Canada, India, and Malaysia to our neighbors in Portland, people have come here from all over the world for the same purpose—to increase our reach and impact for Jesus Christ.”The conference included:
• Moving times of worship
• Dynamic speakers including Luis Palau, bestselling author Donald Miller, Dare 2 Share founder Greg Stier, and youth evangelist Jose Zayas
• Workshops addressing issues including balancing family with ministry, international opportunities with NGA, principles of fundraising, and many others
• Working lunches and dinners with speakers who were both practical and inspiring, including Mark Mittelberg and Joan Cook.
Shane Ginn and Brad Buchanan traveled from Australia for the conference. They came seeking insights for church planning and evangelism. “We are here to get and take back as much information as possible.” Both work with youth for churches in Australia. Buchanan, who planted a church, said, “We want to connect the church community with the local community. I’m doing the groundwork of establishing relationships so that when accomplished evangelists come, they’re readily welcomed in our area.”“I love Luis’ preaching. It’s practical!” said Isaac Alexander who traveled from India. “I’ve prayed for this conference more than
any other, and I am pleased, very pleased. I want to travel all over the world, be a blessing to people, and bring glory to the name of Jesus Christ.”Toni Frallicciardi from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, said, “We’re here body building for the Kingdom. We have a heart for skaters and are members of the new Livin It Alliance. We’re excited to develop what we do, put our gifts together, and reach more people more effectively!”Aaron Taylor from Arnold, Missouri, “My goal is to become a festival evangelist. I need to learn from people who are doing it and I’m obtaining lots of good advice here.”Leroy Ng flew from Malaysia. “I want to connect with evangelists,” he said. “People here are very friendly and there are a lot of ideas. The highlight for me is Luis Palau—his charisma, his humor, his conviction, his passion for the lost—I am so blessed to be able to learn from him.”
Shad Moore with Generation Alive in Spokane, Washington, came to develop partnerships with other evangelists and get new ideas from successful ministries. He said of the conference, “This is really great soil here. I’m taking a lot home with me—knowing how to work with other ministries and how to make them work. This conference is helping me help others.”Jose Zayas, a Luis Palau partner evangelist, summed up the experience quite simply: “This is by far the best conference that the Luis Palau Association has ever put on.”For questions about the Innovative Evangelism Conference or Luis Palau’s Next Generation Alliance, email Chris Webster or call 503-614-1526.
