This is the most unusual Christmas of my life. I’m a little surprised to be alive. (In January my doc gave me 9 months to live – if I did chemotherapy.)
As you can imagine, I’m thrilled that I actually feel quite good. In fact, I’m back to preaching in churches and traveling a bit for ministry.
This Christmas is capping off a year of deep reflection, much time in the Word, and unhurried days with Pat.
Thank you for your prayers for my health. I really do feel the love and support. You’ve seen the updates, I’m sure. God is sustaining and I’m saying yes to more ministry. What the future holds, I do not know.
This year has been telling . . . in a good way. No matter what happens to me in the months ahead, I know the ministry is in wonderful hands with Kevin and Andrew. They have completely taken over the day-to-day operation as I have focused on my health. And they are seeing such wonderful fruit.
In the midst of such turmoil, pain, sickness, and death, we have the most glorious, life-changing news . . .
The free offer of eternal life, the assurance of sins forgiven, and the presence of the resurrected Son of God living in you!
And you need to know this . . . the Gospel changes lives!
I have been reminded of this afresh this past year. People have been writing to me from places I’ve almost forgotten, telling me how God changed their life when they surrendered to Him at a crusade or festival or through our radio ministry. It’s truly humbling and inspiring. And you are an important part of the story.
So thank you for all your encouragement and support.
As you rejoice and celebrate this Christmas season, let us not forget to keep evangelism a priority.
I invite you to remember our team in your year-end giving. We have so many open doors . . . especially in the first part of the year. They include festivals in Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the USA. (Andrew preaching. I may pitch in as God enables.) Plus a new book. And a full-length movie on my life.
As we prepare, I’m excited to tell you the Lord has blessed us with a $250,000 year-end matching challenge.
I know this will be a special Christmas for me and our entire Palau family. Jesus is at the center of our lives and is our everything. What a Savior we have to celebrate!
Good news. Great joy. For all the people. That is our message. That is what we celebrate this month. That is what we live for.
Your friend in Christ,
