Meet Wilson Smith

Throughout my 41-year career at Nike, I learned that design is about storytelling—and no story has captured my heart like the work of our Lord Jesus, that is expressed through the mission of Palau. Since the 1980s, I've been privileged to witness how this incredible ministry transforms lives by spreading the Gospel to the furthest corners of our world.

When I think about Palau, I'm reminded of Acts 1:8—"to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

The work of Palau activates and engages my passion for mission “to the ends of the earth.” Whether I was in Jamaica speaking at a technology institute or supporting events in Argentina, I've watched how Palau creates moments of profound spiritual connection.

What truly excites me is how Palau combines creativity, calling, and collaboration—principles I've lived by throughout my design career. We're not just sharing a message; we're crafting experiences that touch hearts and transform communities. The festivals, the outreach, the strategic approach—it all resonates with my belief that great design tells a powerful story.

I'm particularly inspired by the organization's commitment to reaching diverse audiences. I was honored to be the first Black footwear designer in the athletic industry, and I've experienced the value of diverse perspectives and engagements for any endeavors. Palau is wonderful at bringing various people, churches, and communities together throughout the world, with a passionate focus on the Good News.

My involvement isn't just about giving; it's about being part of something infinitely larger than myself. Every contribution feels multiplied, every moment feels divinely orchestrated. When I pray for our teams and supporters, I'm so blessed and blown away by what God can do through willing hearts.

To me, Palau represents hope, innovation, and the incredible power of sharing God's love across cultures and continents. It's not just a ministry—it's a calling, a creative mission that continues to inspire my vision and impact in all of the world.
