Praise God for Sunday Service at SXSW

Pioneering a Gospel sharing space at SXSW…

Taking over the iconic Stubb’s Bar-B-Q on Saturday and Sunday, March 9-10, we gave SXSW attendees an experience of powerful music, meaningful conversations on hot topics from leading Christian industry experts, and a life-changing message from Andrew Palau.

SXSW is a unique space, one where top thinkers in tech, film, music, business, and more join together to share their thoughts about where our culture is headed and how they can help build a better future. It’s no surprise to know that many who attend SXSW are unchurched, searching for meaning in the plethora of ideas marketed as “the next big thing.”

But we know that deep down, what they are actually searching for is a relationship with God, the One who created them to be these innovators, creatives, and world-changers.

That’s the exciting thing about Sunday SVC at SXSW… for the past two years, we have pioneered a Gospel-sharing space at a largely secular conference. We have put sharing Jesus at the forefront… people who may have never heard the life-changing message of Jesus, have now experienced God’s love in a place they probably never expected to.

In the days leading up to the weekend events, hundreds of local believers hit the streets to promote Sunday SVC and share the Good News. We heard of many great interactions with SXSW attendees – 417 people were even prayed for right there on the street!

Together, we saw God move in powerful ways as people encountered Him at Sunday SVC through street teams, live music, and conversations surrounding faith, work, film, second-chance stories, music, mental health, and more…

God broke down barriers and brought people to Himself in a significant way during our time at SXSW. We are praising the Lord for this open door to reach the unreached.

Thank you for your prayers and partnership for this unique outreach. None of it would have been possible without faithful friends like you.

“Sunday SVC jump-started and strengthened my faith. It was both the push and the safe space I needed to start reconnecting and re-engaging with the world around me. It was incredible meeting believers from around the world. And seeing what He's doing out there… Sunday SVC reminds me that I'm not alone, and gives me renewed courage, confidence, and boldness to start sharing my faith more openly.” –Dani, a SXSW attendee

Thursday, March 7

Last year was the first time ever (in the history of SXSW) that Austin-area churches were allowed to host an officially sanctioned evangelistic gathering at the famous SXSW annual conference… and we were asked to take part. An open door from God that we never expected but are so grateful to have been given!

SXSW is a unique conference. People come from all around the world with an expectation to learn, launch companies and projects, network with like-minded individuals, and dream about the future. They are the best and the brightest in their fields. They influence culture. They guide innovation. And last year, they also had the opportunity to encounter the Living God!

Here’s the cool part… we have been invited back! We’re headed there this weekend! Saturday and Sunday, we are taking over Stubb’s BBQ once again for another year of amazing live music, great food, and conversations focused on faith in sports and the workplace, mental health, film, and more.

This Sunday, Andrew will take the stage… sharing the Good News at one of the most influential conferences in the world! Praise God for this amazing opportunity.

Pray for those who attend—that their hearts are receptive to the Gospel; that they’re ready to respond and follow Jesus! Keep up with our weekend right here or on our Facebook or Instagram. Learn more about Sunday Service at sundaysvc.com.
